Moreau For Mayor-Update August 4

Hello Friends,

Things just keep getting busier on the campaign trail. Thank you for all the enthusiastic support. The team has been putting together some small gatherings to try to reach out to people who don’t know me yet. And you might also see me making the rounds at many of the events in the area, socializing and listening to people’s concerns.

PLEASE NOTE: There is a new voter list, and many people who have voted in the past need to re-register. From what I have heard, seasonal homeowners are disproportionately affected - even if they were previously on the voting list. Check your registration online if you haven’t already before August 12th. After that, you will need to wait until after September 1st and update your information with Town Hall.

For mayor, I now have two opponents, Paul Reale and Peter Bordignon. For Deputy Mayor, Gail Ardiel is currently unopposed. The 10 councillor nominations include: incumbents June Porter, Paula Hope, Shawn McKinlay and Alex Maxwell. New hopefuls are: Braden DeWitt, Rachel Gilliland, Sean Kelly, Megan Loney, George McLeod and Sean McMurray. Nominations are open until August 21st.

This Monday, August 10th, there is a Candidates Connections run by the Blue Mountain Ratepayers Association at The Shed, 140 Crosswinds Blvd, Craigleith, from 5-7 PM. Each candidate will speak for three minutes, followed by mingling. If you’re driving, come early. Parking might be scarce. Hope to see you there.
